Personal Trainer

Growing up as kid

 

1998

Sport played a major part of my childhood including Football, Cricket, Athletics and Tennis. I initially spent the majority of my youth playing Football where I would go on to represent Maidstone United, Southampton FC Academy and train regularly with Millwall FC Academy. 

At age 14 I began playing Rugby Union at school, then decided to focus on this sport only from 15 years old. During my school years I achieved both County and Regional Honours. I also trialled for England Schools Rugby at under 16 and 18 age group. Before I left school I competed at 100m /200m Sprints , began resistance training at my local gym and was fascinated by the fitness industry.

Further Education & Early work career

 

2000 – 2006

After completing my A Levels, I attended Loughborough University, the UK’s leading sporting University. Whilst at Loughborough I played for the University Rugby side and represented the University 1st XV. During my final year at Loughborough University I achieved additional honours for England Universities as well as Northampton Saints Academy. 

2006 – 2010

I graduated from University with a Computing and Management Degree and later began office based work in the I.T Industry. Alongside work I played National League Rugby Union at Canterbury Rugby Club whilst maintaining a regular gym regime. 

At work my colleagues would often ask me for advice on exercise and nutrition as they could see how seriously I took my health and fitness. It was at this point that I believed my passion and potential could be realised working as a Personal Trainer.

The Fitness industry

 

2010

In 2010 I took the big step, left my job in I.T and began my Personal Training Course. This same year I started working at a Fitness First Gym, which was local to me at the time. 

 

2013 – 2015

After a 14 year playing career I retired from playing Rugby and took up a new challenge in CrossFit.

After becoming competent in this multi disciplined sport I competed in multiple National Level CrossFit events achieving five top 3 finishes including three 1st place wins as an individual competitor.

2015 – 2019

In Summer 2019 I passed my UKSCA accreditation for Strength & Conditioning. The UKSCA are The Professional Body for Strength & Conditioning practitioners in the UK and the accreditation status is highly respected globally.

I continued to compete at CrossFit, this time as a  pairs with another male. In our 2nd competition we achieved a 1st place podium finish.

2020 – Present (2022)

Covid-19 provided it’s multiple challenges and opportunities to develop professionally including offering Online Coaching to my services.

In addition to my Personal Training work schedule I run a term time weekly Teen Strength & Conditioning Class for young Athletes. I also currently hold active Strength & Conditioning coaching roles with

  • Westcombe Park Rugby Club Mens 1st XV Head Of Performance
  • Kent County Rugby Mens Under 20’s
